30g / 1.06oz raw COCOA BUTTER

16g / 0.56oz raw SHEA BUTTER

40g / 1.41oz cold-pressed COCONUT OIL

(optional) 3 drops vitamin E oil

(optional) 5-10 drops any essential oil

Melt the cocoa butter, shea butter, and coconut oil together in a heat-safe bowl by microwaving for 20-second bursts, mixing between to ensure even heating. Only let the fats get 90% melted, and then let the residual heat continue to melt the rest.

Once the fats have fully melted, place the bowl in the freezer for 5-10 minutes, or until the edges of the oil mixture has begun to solidify.

Whip the cooled-but-not-solid mixture on high with an electric mixer for about 10 minutes, or until very fluffy and almost doubled in volume. If your house is a bit warm, you may need to chill the body butter in the freezer for 1-2 minutes halfway through whipping.

(Optional) During the last minutes of whipping, add the remaining ingredients. Keep this body butter stored at room temperature in a glass container, ideally tinted glass to slow down the rate at which light breaks down the natural fats.
